Microsoft’s well known for botching Windows updates, but the latest error takes the cake. According to a slew of users online, the company has itself pushed an internal version of Windows 10 — meant for private testing only — to users.
While the build, numbered 18947, is limited to Insiders running Windows 10 32-bit, it nonetheless reveals a slew of Microsoft’s UI plans for the OS. Namely, a revamped Start Menu.

Consider this a very early concept, but the new Start Menu has a prominent search bar at the top, with tiles spaced in a five-by-three format. There are also no Live Tiles. Bug or feature? Perhaps you’ll be able to scroll these? The side bar of useful shortcuts are still there apparently.
Other interesting features picked out by Twitter user NTAuthority also includes a GIF search system. Welcome to 2016, Microsoft.
It’s not clear if Microsoft will force users to roll back to an earlier build of Windows 10, or just let insiders have their way with the OS. But, the company’s Insider chief Dona Sarkar says they’re “looking into it“.
