Microsoft brings ‘passwordless’ sign-in to Windows 10 update

Windows 10 users may soon have the option to go “passwordless” when signing in to their Microsoft accounts across devices, the company revealed on Wednesday.

“Enabling passwordless sign in will switch all Microsoft accounts on your Windows 10 device to modern authentication with Windows Hello Face, Fingerprint, or PIN,” Microsoft said on its blog.

The feature is currently part of the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18936 and is in early development stages.

Build 18936 also allows users to add events and reminders directly from the taskbar calendar and supports the Your Phone screen sharing app on more Surface laptops.
