Google on Tuesday revealed a new feature in Search that will show you “key moments” in videos to help you find more relevant information.
“When you search for things like how-to videos that have multiple steps, or long videos like speeches or a documentary, Search will provide links to key moments within the video, based on timestamps provided by content creators,” the company said on its blog.
No ad to show here.
The feature could also help alleviate the struggles of watching videos that promote ads for at least five minutes before getting to the point.
“You’ll be able to easily scan to see whether a video has what you’re looking for, and find the relevant section of the content,” Google added.
Presently, “key moments” will pop up on Google Search in English for YouTube videos that have time-stamps added to them.
Google further noted that it plans to roll out the feature to more video publishers soon.
The company, which launched a “swipe-right” feature for Search earlier this month, is steadily dropping new ways for us all to find what we’re looking for.
