Google teases Play Pass release right before Apple confirms Apple Arcade launch

Google Play Pass release

We first heard about Google Play Pass in early August when a report revealed that the subscription service from Google will offer Android users access to “premium apps and games” for a monthly fee.

On Monday, just before Apple’s September Event, Google officially teased the imminent launch of Play Pass on Twitter.

“It’s almost time. Google Play Pass is coming soon,” the company said in a tweet.

Though the company didn’t reveal further details, the tweet’s timing suggests that Google might launch its Play Store services around the same time that Apple plans to release Apple Arcade.

On Tuesday, Apple confirmed that its gaming subscription service will launch on 19 September for $5.

Google Play Pass is expected to cost $5 as well.
