Twitter thinks Sam Mshengu ‘snitched on himself’ following Hawks arrest

Sam Mshengu

Sam Mshengu, known for his trucking logistics company Sam Holdings, was on Sunday arrested by the Hawks following a “prolonged investigation into his citizenship”.

The news broke in several tweets from Mail & Guardian journalist Sabelo Skiti, who noted that Mshengu was well known for his 72-car convoy at the Durban July this year.

South Africans found the news amusing, with many agreeing that Mshengu, who was reportedly born in Limpopo, “snitched on himself” after displaying his wealth so publically at the Durban July.

Though further details surrounding Mshengu’s arrest are still unknown, some Twitter users commended the businessman for making “Durban July” trend again in September.
