As part of Spotify’s latest update for iOS 13, Apple users can now control the audio streaming app via Siri.
This means that users can now ask the voice-activated assistant to access and play content from Spotify, where it previously only performed the action for Apple Music.

“Control your Spotify listening experience on iPhone, iPad, Carplay, AirPods, and HomePod via Airplay,” Spotify noted in the update.
The change, which the two companies were rumoured to be discussing back in August, gives iOS users more freedom to use Apple’s features with their prefered apps.
Earlier this year, Spotify filed an antitrust complaint against the company that suggested Apple favoured its own apps over others.
With the recent launch of iOS 13, however, it seems Apple is finally opening up its doors to other apps and services.
