Twitter goes gaga for gifs
If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “you know what the web needs? More gifs!” then your day is about to be made. Twitter has just launched support for the format across its web, iOS and Android platforms.
Yup that’s right. Your Twitter feed could soon be clogged with the same recycled looping images that seem to comprise so much of Tumblr and Buzzfeed and, well you get the idea.
The new feature was announced by the Twitter support account and while the gif it used to make the announcement is functional, it’s also pretty boring.
Starting today, you can share and view animated GIFs on http://t.co/wJD8Fp317i, Android and iPhone. http://t.co/XBrAbOm4Ya
