Snapchat wants you to know it’s very, very serious about ads
This has an air of inevitability about it. Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel has released an infomercial aimed at showing advertisers just how serious it is about advertising.
The ephemeral social network first started dabbling with advertising late last year, causing some fairly some of its users to freak out. Since then, it’s made a number of strides in appealing to advertisers.
And now Spiegel wants you to know that Snapchat’s ads are better than everyone else’s. Why? Well, for the most part it seems to boil down to the fact that they fill up the entire screen.
In all seriousness (and this is a very serious video), the 90 second spot sees Spiegel extolling the virtues of Snapchat’s 3V advertising model — The Vs being: vertical, video, and views.
We probably couldn’t describe why that’s important with anywhere the same kind of gravity as Spiegel, so we suggest you watch the video if you’re interested in finding out.
