Stikeez, Uber, and JMPD: 5 Memeburn posts you loved this week
Seven days is a long time in tech. This time last week, Google’s logo was more or less the same one that had existed since 1999, Instagram didn’t have emoji, and South Africa had no idea that it’s next viral phenomenon would be an officer from the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD).
Thing is, so much can happen in a week that it’s difficult for busy people like you, dear reader, to keep up with it all.
That’s why, every week, we put together this compilation of the top five stories put out on Memeburn this week.
So what got people clicking over the past seven days?
Well the phenomenon that is Stikeez (a range of free toys given to Pick n Pay customers with purchases over R150), shows no sign of slowing down. The cheap, plastic rewards have found their way into the ecommerce space, which in turn piqued Memeburn readers’ interest.
