Facebook revamps notification tab, makes it more Google Now card-ish
Facebook has announced that starting today, Android and iOS users in the US will see an updated Notifications tab. The new notification tab has been expanded and made more personal, giving users notifications about information about friends, sports, interests and location based content like local news and weather.
The notification tab looks very much like Google’s Google Now cards, spotting the same functionality and design. Like with Google Now cards, users will be able to customise the content on their notification tab.
The new notification tab will include friends’ birthdays and life events. It will also show sports scores and TV reminders based on what pages a user has liked. Upcoming events will be part of the notifications tab, making sure users do not miss them.

The update to the notification tab also brings location-based customisation, where users can customise their notifications based on their location. This will enable to get local news, events, weather updates, movies showing in theatre, restaurants, and son on. These notifications will come with links to the places suggested, so that users can easily click and makes reservations at that local restaurant or find out more information.
To customize the notification tabs, users can tap the arrow to the right of each card and to add add More Cards, there is an arrow at the bottom of the tab.
