US laptop ban lifted for Turkish, Etihad and Emirates Airlines flights
For frequent fliers darting between the United States and Dubai or Istanbul, there’s some good news regarding that particular laptop ban.
The laptop-in-cabin ban has been lifted for those traveling from Dubai International Airport and Instanbul Ataturk Airports on Emirates and Turkish Airlines.

The news also comes after Etihad Airways flights departing from Abu Dhabi International Airport became exempt from the laptop ban.
Flights leaving the airport operated by the carrier now adhere to new measures outlined by the United States, screening fliers before they board the plane rather than after they touch down.
Etihad, along with Emirates and Turkish Airlines, are now exempt from the laptop ban
The ban, imposed in March 2017 in an executive order passed by US President Donald Trump, originally affected 10 airports in eight countries including African states Egypt and Morocco.
Fliers to the United States originating from these airports were forced to check-in electronics larger than a smartphone.
The exemption is effective immediately.
