Twitter responds to Louis CK’s alleged sexual misconduct

Louis CK joined the likes of sexual misconduct accused Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey Wednesday when multiple women stepped forward to tell The New York Times their disturbing stories about the comedian.

Comedic duo Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov said that in 2002 Louis CK invited them over to an after-show hang out in his hotel room. As soon as they arrived, the man asked if he could take out his penis. He allegedly undressed and started masturbating.

A year later, another comedian Abby Schachner says that while on a phone call with Louis CK, she could hear him masturbating in the background. Six years later, she received an apology via Facebook from the comedian.

Comedian Rebecca Corry confirmed this behaviour, alleging that in 2005 Louis CK asked if he could masturbate in front of her. She declined.

The news — which has been rumoured for years — didn’t surprise those online, though many were disappointed in the comedian they admired.

Fellow comedian Judd Apatow pointed out how Louis CK’s alleged misconduct discouraged women from entering the comedy scene.

Louis CK’s upcoming film I Love You Daddy — about an older producer who seduces a minor — was also a source of contention.

I Love You Daddy‘s premiere has since been cancelled.

HBO announced that the comedian would not participate in its “Night of Too Many Stars: America Unites for Autism Programs” event, and his previous content was removed from its On Demand services.
