Nokia serves up YouTube uploader app, beats Google to the punch
If you’ve got a thing for capturing videos on the fly, Nokia just gave you a pretty sound reason to buy the Lumia 1020. The Finnish phone maker has launched a YouTube uploader app that, well, lets you upload videos to YouTube.
That’s interesting because, as The Verge notes, it’s something that neither Google nor Microsoft have been able to do previously. In fact, Microsoft has had its fair share of disagreements with Google over its own YouTube app in the recent past.
Nokia’s app allows you to upload videos to YouTube by selecting the particular video file on the device or via the Nokia Video Trimmer app.
For the moment, the Nokia YouTube uploader app is only available on the Lumia 1020, although it looks like it’ll be rolled out to the rest of Nokia’s Windows Phone range of devices fairly shortly.
