iPad 3 will have 1GB RAM — confirmed by hackers
Just a quick one before the launch tonight. Chronic, a skilled jailbreaker has snagged a screenshot from an iPad 3 development unit which displays the 1GB RAM clears as day (for coders at least).
The image itself was taken from yet another website but Chronic only recently cracked the code hidden within the screengrabs. According to Chronic, “It’s been in plain sight since the beginning of February.” I’ll let the geniuses explain further:
The (full) last line says:
vm_page_bootstrap: 244276 free pages and 8396 wired pages
So, just do some simple math:
244 276 (pages) x 4 096 bytes (size of a page) = 1 000 554 496 bytes = 1GB (rounded)
Other confirmed features from the screengrabs includes an A6, quad-core CPU. Too exciting, tune in to Gearburn at 8PM to find out if the rumours are true.
