Whether all these ambitious new developments by Google are going to work in the real world or not, I feel that it’s on the edge of the next step in our information age — integration.
Google Now is a whole new approach to technology and how it affects our daily lives, attempting to predict our next move and provide information that can assist us. Making us faster, more efficient people.
This is a far cry from Apple’s clinical, compartmentalised approach to technology. Which, although quite organic and easy to use, can inhibit a global cohesive blend of technology in one flowing stream of information and applications.
In a nutshell — Google Glass. I read that what seemed to be a side project to show off Google’s prowess is, in fact, the main show. This seems to be true. Google are heading towards an all-in-one solution culminating in Google Glass.
If it all works out for Google, when we visit a telecom for a new contract in the future the choices will be: Phone, tablet or Google Glass. And my allegiance to Apple will wear rather thin, I fear.
