Gamescom 2012 — Sony and Capcom deliver the goods
Gamescom 2012 is no E3, but it is a decent opportunity for the gaming behemoths to strut its stuff. Most surprisingly, titles usually reserved for E3 will be shown to the public tomorrow, when Gamescom 2012 officially kicks off. We’ve dug up the most interesting gaming news, so waste not your time and dig up the info below.
It begins with Capcom, which outside of Devil May Cry, Lost Planet 6, and Resident Evil 6 announced Remember Me, a bland-looking title that has plenty in common with Assassins Creed and every other game, ever. Have a look at this.
Really, Capcom? Remember Me looks clunky and generic. It’s 2012 so there’s got to be a sexy but strong female lead, an Uncharted style mix of platforming and action, plus lens-flare. Never forget the lens flare.
And then there was Sony, which surprised many by announcing a slew of Move titles. By surprise, we mean no surprise at all. Titles include a Call of Duty for PS Vita, Rain (not Heavy) for the PS Network and Until Dawn, which looks to be the best Playstation title of the show. One title really does standout though, and that’s Tearaway for Vita. Sony’s gone and crafted a title in the vein of Paper Mario, with the makers of Little Big Planet behind this cutesy title.
Other titles of lesser concern embarrassingly limped out of the stable as well. Here’s even more information in case the first link couldn’t wet your whistle.
It’s the Xbox event we look forward to the most. With Halo 4 on the precipice of glory and Dead Space 3, GTA 5 smelling of roses, the Xbox will be the console to watch tomorrow.
