Lenovo IdeaCentre A520, the 23-inch desktop tablet
Taking the desktop to different dimensions, the Lenovo IdeaCentre A520 brings a 23-inch 10-point multi-touch screen to your home packed fresh with Windows 8 64-bit.
The nifty thing about Lenovo’s IdeaCentres is that the display can be adjusted from five to a flat 90 degrees. What makes this model better than its bigger brother, the A720’s with a 27-inch display, is that the A520 is a manageable size and won’t take up your entire work space. And the fact that it can be adjusted to such angles means that the touch display can be used much more.
It’s an all-in-one design, the base being the housing for all the internal goodness and the screen being a giant desktop tablet. Speaking of internals, the A520 will come with an option of i3 to i7 third generation Intel processors, with up to 8GB of RAM and 1TB storage. Graphics come in the form of Intel’s HD Graphics 4000 with the option of having a NVIDIA GeForce 615 2G/1G for extra kick.
It’s going to be a heavy-weight at 9.8kg, but it’ll sit on a desk, not a lap, so it shouldn’t make all that much of a difference. The release date is sometime in October with a price tag of US$999.
