With today’s discerning consumer demanding that their wearable tech be as functional as it is fashionable, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series steps boldly…
LG Optimus G’s 13MP camera, quad core CPU kicks in doors, takes names
LG’s Optimus G is here. Not as if we were waiting with baited breath for this little tramp, but it’s here none the less. This very un-iPhone looking phone, more like a redone Galaxy Note, has a 4.7-inch screen, 1.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory and a 2 100mAh battery. That’s just for starters.
Multi-tasking, no more
LG’s calling it cross-talking, and it allows complex tasks to be “completed simultaneously without having to compromise other tasks” according to the over-enthusiastic press release. And to complement this brand new feature, LG have these interface treats in store.
Qslide: shows two screens at once. Send a message and browse the sticky web simultaneously.
Live Zoom: zoom in and out while the video is recording. Don’t really see the use here unless the camera sensor is beefy enough.
Icon Personalizer: simple enough, lets us customise icons size, colour and even apply custom graphics to icons if need be.
Cameras pretty smart
This 13MP monster has some nifty software tricks like cheese shutter: camera activates when the user says “smile”, “cheese” or “Kimchi“. Then there’s smart shutter: the shutter adjusts itself based on camera movement and attempts to create the best picture.
Design is, un-Apple?
Let’s decipher this snippet of PR crap: “inheriting LG’s design DNA and heritage, the blend of delicate design and technology placed the emphasis on simplicity with a completely black unibody form in the Optimus G.” Ummm, what? From what we’ve seen, the Optimus G looks like every other smartphone on the market. The back seems to have a Nexus 7 like dimpled effect though, but we’ll have to have phone in hand to test this out. And ho, thanks to “crystal reflection” the look of the back changes depending on the viewing angle. Here are the full specs, just to be safe:
