FIFA 13 smashing records with rocketing sales
According to Electronic Arts Inc FIFA 13 is selling like hot cakes! In just five days the 2013 version of the football game has sold more than 4.5-million copies across all platforms worldwide.
FIFA 13, which launched on 25 September in key countries, sold more than 1.23-million games in the first 48 hours in the United Kingdom making it the second video game franchise ever to sell more than one million units in the UK within a day.
“FIFA 13 is a critical and commercial success unprecedented in sports entertainment,” said Andrew Wilson, Executive Vice President of EA SPORTS. “Every minute of every day millions of fans around the world are experiencing what the critics have already said—FIFA 13 is the biggest and best sports game we have ever created.”
This iterations of the football game introduces a host of new features for players such as “Player Impact Engine”, which will expand physical play from simple collisions to off-the-ball battles between players. This should be fun for your defenders. There is also “Tactical Free Kicks” which provides the tools to create dangerous and unpredictable free kicks, this utilises the most talented player skills wise. Allowing players to position up to three attacking players over the ball, the ability to use dummy runs and more passing options to create ridiculous free kicks.
FIFA 13 captures the unpredictability of the real-world sport with breakthrough features like First Touch Control that ensure no two matches ever play the same, and new online services like EA SPORTS Football Club Match Day that completely connect FIFA 13 to the real-world season for the world’s top leagues. The FIFA 13 demo is available through Origin, Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network.
According to EA Games, fans are also playing FIFA 13 in record numbers. 30 September 2012 was the busiest day for online gaming for a single title in EA history. An astounding 800 000 fans played FIFA 13 simultaneously.
“More than 66-million online game sessions have already been played on FIFA 13, representing a staggering 600-million minutes of online play,” says the company.
