Skype for Windows 8 available ahead of schedule
According to The Verge, Windows’ online store has downloads for both Windows 8 and Windows RT users, with those running RT being able to install the app immediately.
The rest of us however will have to wait a few more hours as Microsoft’s latest OS makes its official debut on 26 October.
This latest installment from Skype is set to fully utilize the user interface of Windows 8 live tile support. Windows 8 and social media will work seamlessly together, with users given the ability to use either their Microsoft ID or Facebook profile to log into Skype.
This is all in an effort to create a seamless integration of programs that people interact with on a day-to-day basis.
Other enhanced features include refined functionality with full screen voice chats such as, secondary messages received during voice chats will display as pop-up bubbles on the screen’s peripheral. Users can also check the status of other conversations and instantly shared entire contact books.
