Upcoming LG F3 pictures and 4G-ready specs leaked
Pictures and a hint of specs have been leaked of the upcoming LG F3 smartphone, part of the Korean giant’s F range. The leak by @EvLeaks, reveals that the Optimus F3, like its siblings, will cater for 4G connectivity. This is what makes the F-series so popular. The fact that LG’s trying to put fast data connectivity in our hands at an affordable price.
If first impressions were anything to go by, and they usually are, the F3 doesn’t seem to stand out against current competition per se. But who cares? This is not LG’s flagship. And you’ll be getting a 4G modem at a decent-ish price. That’s mainly what you’d be paying for.
As Phone Arena vaguely suggests, we can expect the F3 in the “next few weeks” and will be priced “aggressively.” What ever that means. If it’s anything like its siblings (and it seems to be in the middle of the two), we can expect it to be going for anything between US$300 and US$500 in cash. Although the F3 is expected to be sold through popular US network company, Sprint, which means that its contract would be a lot cheaper than its competitors’.
The hardware, as leaked by @EvLeaks, doesn’t have as much of a wow-factor as we would want. It will come with a 4-inch WVGA display, a dual-core CPU and the latest Android, namely Jelly Bean. It will also hold a 2 460mAh battery which is quite beefy or, at least, more than its brother, the F5.
Originally the series only featured two devices: the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7. LG announced earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress, that it’ll be trying to fill the gap between the expensive Optimus G-series and the lower-end Optimus L by debuting the F5 and F7.
Based on these looks, is this phone you would burn for upon release? Are you willing to trade in specs and looks for a wallet-friendly 4G handheld device? Is LG playing its cards too close to the table?
