‘Gary’s Mod’ a highlight of new Humble Jumbo Bundle
It’s all about monsters, aliens and tower defense it seems. Special game deals site Humble Bundle announced the Humble Jumbo Bundle recently which offers inexpensive indie titles for Mac, Linux and Windows users. The games on offer include Natural Selection 2, Sanctum 2, Magicka and Serious Sam 3: BFE.
If you don’t know the drill, it goes a little something like this: You pay what you want. The money supports your choice of charity, devs or the site. If you manage to beat the average (currently standing at about US$4), you get three extra games and their respective soundtracks.
Natural Selection 2 is a sci-fi title that somehow combines the rules between a first-person shooter and real-time strategy. Somewhere in the epic battle between the Kharaa and the Marines, you take can take control as commander and drop aid, ammunition and offensive or defensive structures to destroy your opponent.
Sanctum 2 is a first-person shooter tower defense game where you can pick between a variety of classes protecting major human colonies against hordes of mysterious aliens. You can do this in single player mode or in co-op.
Magicka is a top-down action-adventure game. It’s set in the Norse fantasy world of Midgård, where elemental magic apparently rules the land, and fairy-tale creatures roam the hills. Defeat the evil sorcerer with up to four of your colourful mages in up to thirteen levels with power-ups, loot, special abilities and wit.
As mentioned, if you pay more than the average, you’ll get the following titles:
Orcs Must Die! 2: The Complete Pack brings you all the boosters of the popular action strategy tower defense title (yes, another one). Together with your friends and trusty spellbook, you’re required to overcome mobs of orcs, goblins and other greenskins.
Garry’s Mod is a bit of an odd one here (but an extremely popular game). The sandbox title encourages players to build. Created by Gary Newman who is currently the top donor of the Humble Bundle, the mod lets your creativity get the best of you to manipulate physics, props and poses of things found in Valve’s popular Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Portal, and Team Fortress 2.
Almost in need of no introduction, we’re back to fighting aliens and all kinds of crazy enemies. The classic Serious Sam 3: BFE is a first-person action game which takes place in the 22nd century, during an invasion of Earth. You blast yourself through hordes of monsters in Egypt together with an option of a 16-player co-op campaign mode.
