Lenovo flaunts S-series trio of budget Android phones
Lenovo has just unveiled three friendly, budget smartphones at MWC 2014 to further widen its S-series offering. The trio, namely the S860, S850 and S660, comes with Android 4.2 out of the box and all has dual SIM functionality.
The Lenovo S860 is meant to be all about the battery, and people who live off their smartphones 24/7. As mentioned by NDTV, it’s supposed to last you up to forty days on standby and 24 hours of talk time on a 3G connection. It even comes with an on-the-go battery charger. The S860 touts a 5.3″ HD display, 2GB RAM and a 1.3GHz quad-core processor.
Lenovo’s S850 is fashioned in either a pink or white all-glass exterior. It’s fancy and, as CNET points out, has a glowing Lenovo logo on its back which colours you can set to change according to different notifications. It has a 13 MP camera and a 5 MP front-facing one. The S850 has a sub 5″ HD display and only has 1GB RAM, 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 16GB of storage.
The S660 is Lenovo’s compact, plain and simple, offering it seems. Under its 4.7″ qHD display there’s a 1.3GHz quad-core Mediatek CPU, 1GB RAM and 16GB of on board storage with a microSD slot. This number also has a 8 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP one at the front.
As reported by NDTV, Liu Jun, executive vice president of Lenovo said that this latest smartphone range is meant to give customers greater variety without making cutbacks with the hardware:
“The new S860, S850 and S660 smartphones perfectly compliment the full range of mobile devices available to consumers around the world, letting consumers easily pick the Lenovo smartphone that’s right for them. Customers told us they wanted a great user experience without sacrificing performance, so we built these new smartphones for style, blazing fast processing speeds, and integrated Lenovo apps.”
All three will start rolling out to Asia, the Middle East and Central America in June this year.
