Shadow of Mordor dubbed Game of the Year at Game Choice Awards

Game Choice Awards has recently dubbed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor as 2015’s title of the year. The open world action-RPG is brought to us by Monolith Productions and Warner Brother’s Interactive, who throw’s us into the deepest, darkest corners of Middle-earth where you play as an ass-kicking wrath destroying and possessing orcs and goblins along the way.

Other favourite gaming titles that caught the eye of the judges are Alien: Isolation for Best Audio, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft for Best Design and Monument Valley for best mobile game.

“I continue to be amazed by the diversity of games that we honored tonight, from AAA action titles like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to standout mobile games like Monument Valley,” said Meggan Scavio, General Manager of the Game Developers Conference in a statement to Gamasutra.

Shadow of Mordor has achieved a lot of good feedback from the gaming world since it was released at the end of 2014.

In a review, Gearburn writer Wiehahn Diederichs wrote:

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is not only one of the best games I’ve played in 2014 so far but easily became one of my favourite games of I’ve ever played. Its masterful combination of interactive participation and captivating storytelling makes for a fulfilling and rewarding gaming experience.
