Tecno WinPad 10 is company’s latest Intel, Microsoft-powered hybrid tablet
African device manufacturer Tecno has this week launched the Tecno WinPad 10 to the Nigerian market, which is the company’s latest tablet hybrid to boast a decent specifications sheet and a smooth lick of style.
The WinPad 10 will feature a 10.1-inch screen, an Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core processor (running at 1.83GHz), 32GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. There’s also a dual camera setup, with a 5MP primary camera at the rear and a 2MP camera at the front, which means video calling is largely possible on this device.
“We are indeed excited to bring this product to the market along with new Windows Operating System and Intel’s very fast Atom Processor. We are offering those whose lives are mobile a smart bouquet of efficiency. With a full charge, the user can surf the web, run different applications, watch movies and even play games at the same time. The Tecno WinPad offer users six hours of video playback time and 150hours of standby time,” noted Chidi Okonkwo, Tecno Mobile’s vice GM.
The launch signifies a new partnership between Tecno, and international tech giants Microsoft and Intel. Previously, the company has launched smartphones boasting Google’s Android operating system, but the new tablet hybrid is a bold step into a new market category.
The WinPad 10, as a result, will run on Windows which Microsoft Nigeria’s Mark Ihimoyan seems rather excited about:
For full PC power and total tablet fun, there’s nothing like a Windows 2 in 1. Touch, click or type – you choose what fits your style and activity. All the great apps you need are in the Windows Store, plus you can play Xbox games, music and videos. Use Skype to video chat, take notes with Office, and get your photos and files from anywhere with OneDrive.
The Tecno WinPad 10 will be available throughout Nigeria, but no pricing or availability information is available at the time of writing.
