‘Project H.A.M.M.E.R.’ is a Nintendo Wii game that never was [video]
Nintendo has had a number of flops, but one of its biggest failures is one you’ve probably not heard of before. Unseen64 has recently posted a ten minute mini-documentary profiling Project H.A.M.M.E.R, a Nintendo Wii game that never quite made it off the ground.
The hammer-swing sci-fi brawler was supposed to be done by the time it was first acknowledged in 2005, but there was a culture clash of sorts between the Japanese management and the American staff.
The two sides had different ideas about what would possibly fix the mediocre gameplay.
However the deadlock was never resolved, but eventually the management’s requests led to numerous departures and attempts to blame the head designer of the game. The game was quietly cancelled in 2009.
There have been multiple games that never hit the market either, not to mention more than a few hardware gaffes too, including the Virtual Boy.
Nevertheless, have a look at what you’ve been with Project H.A.M.M.E.R. but never was.
