PlayStation 4 faceplates available in South Africa from November [update]
Update: It seems that the initial press release sent out by PlayStation and company had the incorrect date, at least according to them. The revised date is 18 November, so grab that correction fluid.
Hot on the heels of the R500 price drop announced this week, PlayStation South Africa today announced that faceplates are also making their way to the country, and will begin at R299.
Essentially, faceplates allow gamers to customise the smaller panel (or hard drive cover) of the PlayStation 4, which does seem strangely odd in some colours, and quite art-deco in others.
Neon Orange, Aqua Blue, Red and Glacier white will be the first choices available from 8 November, “with Gold and Silver coming at a later date,” the press release states.
While this may seem like another way for gamers to part with their hard earned cash, it will be a welcome addition for those who are plain sick of staring at the almost entirely black and blue console.
Have a look at the video below for a better idea of the colours available.
