Gears of War 4 trailer showcases gardening instead of gameplay
The first trailer for the next entry in the bro-shooter series, Gears of War, is now on YouTube. Don’t get too excited, though, as it’s nothing special.
The trailer primarily consists of video showing JD Phoenix, son of Gears of War series protagonist, Marcus Phoenix, running through a forest and into a dilapidated area from some kind of threat. We’ve also given shots of JD as a boy, while Marcus is bulked up and planting a tree. All of it is fully rendered CGI.
The trailer tries to be emotional by setting the scene to Disturbed’s cover of Sound of Silence, but it seems an odd choice. Much like Gears of War: Ultimate Edition‘s choice of using Mad World.
Expect more Gears of War 4 news at this year’s E3 conference, but until then we can only speculate if you’ll be able to plant trees in the game.
The game will be released on Xbox One, but there’s no word if it’ll receive a PC edition as well.
