My favourite game this week? I’ll have to say Rooms of Doom, but only because I own some of the Humble Bundle titles already.
Rooms of Doom – Minion Madness (free – Android, iOS)
The latest game from the people behind Crossy Road is another endless-runner – so how does it do things differently?
Well, each section of this endless-runner is a minigame of sorts. So one bit will have you doing Flappy Bird-style antics, followed by dodging hydraulic presses and then running in the vein of Jetpack Joyride.
Room of Doom makes for quite a fun, varied take on the formula then. So do yourself a favour and give it a download.
diep.io (free – Android, iOS)
The latest game from Miniclip, the team behind Agar.io, is top-down action game diep.io.
This offers a similar perspective and visual style to the previous title, but changes things up by adding tanks and having you take out other players. You’ll also be unlocking new classes and abilities as you progress.
The game is prone to some lag right now and, as usual with these titles, there are some formidable enemies, but former Agar.io players might like this.
Humble Mobile Bundle 19 (paid – Android)
The pay-what-you-want Humble Bundles for Android are a great way to score some great paid games.
The latest bundle offers Chameleon Run, Ys Chronicles II and Hitman Go as the base bundle (available for US$1 or more). Beat the average, pegged at US$4.94 at the time of writing, and you get boxing management game Punch Club and Super Stickman Golf 3 Premium as well.
Pay US$6 or more and you get adventure title Dropsy and The Banner Saga – not a bad deal at all.
Dots & Co (free – Android, iOS)
The third game in the popular Dots series, you’ll be connecting dots to finish levels as usual.
Dots & Co offers over 150 levels, as well as companion characters with unique power-ups to help you along the way. In other words, if you liked the previous two titles, this is worth a look.
The only downside is that some feel the game is too overbearing when it comes to in-app purchases. Your mileage may vary.
