Fury Turn and Tempest: this week’s top mobile games
Need your mobile games fix? Well, we’ve got you covered with a few noteworthy titles this week.
My favourite game this time? Well, I’d have to say it’s the rather sublime Fury Turn. But check out the full rundown below.
Tempest: Pirate Action RPG (paid – Android, iOS)
It’s been available on Steam for a while now, but this interesting pirate-themed RPG has finally made its way to mobile platforms too.
Tempest has you fighting pirates and monsters, all while exploring the seven seas and recruiting crew. The game offers an open world environment with over 100 quests to take on, making it a meaty adventure at the very least.
Tempest is available for R80 on Android and R130 on iOS. But if you liked Sid Meier’s Pirates and Black Flag, it might be right up your alley.
Humble Mobile Bundle (paid – Android)
We’ve already covered the latest Humble Bundle for Android users, but it’s definitely worth covering once again.
Pay what you want and you’ll get three games, in the form of Grim Fandango Remastered, Kathy Rain and Machinarium. Pay US$4 or more and you get Her Story, Burly Men at Sea and Sorcery 4. Got US$6 or more? Then you can grab Lumino City and Samorost 3 as well.
The latest Humble Bundle is available from the Humble Bundle website.
Tilted – A Tale of Refraction (free – Android)
It’s in early access on Android, but Tilted has a pretty interesting concept at this point already.
The game is a 2D platformer of sorts but, as the name implies, you’ll need to mess about with light and refraction to do figure out the levels as well.
Tilted isn’t the most graphically polished game around, and it could do with some more gameplay polish. But it still makes for a rather fun, head-scratching distraction.
Fury Turn (free – Android)
It’s got some charming cartoon-like visuals, but there’s more to this title than stylish graphics.
Fury Turn, as the name implies, is a turn-based top-down action/puzzler. You’ll need to move around various objects to solve puzzles and work your way through levels, but you’ll also be using guns and grenades to dish out damage and find your way.
It does have the occasional ad, but like many decent mobile games, these can be removed with a one-time purchase.
