Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp announced for mobile [Video]
We already knew that Nintendo was planning an Animal Crossing title for smartphones, now, the company shed more light on Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
Coming to Android and iOS as a free-to-play title, Pocket Camp swaps out houses for tents, as you become a camp manager.
“Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a game about exploring nature, making friends, and collecting cool items to help you create the campsite of your dreams!” read an FAQ on the website.
Otherwise, as the below video shows, it still seems like a familiar experience for series fans. So that means collecting (and placing) furniture, going fishing, gathering fruit and building relationships with other animals.
As for the free-to-play aspect, Nintendo says you can buy so-called “Leaf Tickets” with real money, but that these can be acquired for free as well.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is launching in “late November”, with South Africa also being listed for launch.
It’s not the first game Nintendo has released on mobile either, having launched Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem last year. Still, Animal Crossing and smartphones seem like an even better match.
