Watch: does Samsung’s ad take subtle jab at Pixel 2 XL screen?
Google received a ton of negative attention after several tech publications reported screen burn-in on the Pixel 2 XL display.
The phenomenon is to be expected, but these publications reported burn-in after less than two weeks with the device.
Now, Samsung has uploaded a new 30 second advertisement to YouTube, “coincidentally” touting the screen quality of the Galaxy S8 (review) and Galaxy Note 8.
In a smart move, the advertisement merely consists of prominent tech reviewers praising the display quality. Prominent channels featured include MKBHD, MrMobile and Unbox Therapy.
It’s not just a subjective thing either, as benchmarking website DisplayMate gave the “best display” crown to the Galaxy S8 and then the Note 8. In fact, the firm said the latter was the “most innovative and high performance smartphone display that we have ever lab tested”.
