ZTE Axon M looks like a Nintendo DS emulation delight
Believe it or not, but dual-screen smartphones with DS-like designs are nothing new — just ask Kyocera and the Echo. Now, we’ve got another similar handset in the form of the ZTE Axon M.
When folded up, the phone’s two 5.2-inch full HD screens are on the front and back. But fold it out and you’ve got a very Nintendo-style layout, the displays sitting side-by-side.
The arrangement means you can run two apps at once, with each app having its own dedicated screen. Alternatively, there’s an “extended mode” which turns the two screens into one, 6.75-inch display.
Another neat trick is the ability to have you and a friend watch the same content, but on two separate screens.
You’re also looking at a 3180mAh battery, which makes us wonder whether the phone will last very long. After all, the battery size seems about on par with flagships, but it’s powering two large screens instead of one.
Thanks to the phone’s layout, the 20MP main camera (f/1.8 aperture, IMX350) is actually the only camera, with selfies also taken with this shooter.
As for the rest of the spec sheet? You’re looking at a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button, Dolby Atmos support, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, (presumably) Snapdragon 820 processor and a headphone jack.
