Hisense P9 confirmed, but what about SA release? [Exclusive]
Hisense is known for its cheap yet rugged smartphones, such as the C30 Rock (review) and Infinity KO. So we weren’t completely surprised to uncover the existence of the P9 on the website of China’s TENAA regulatory body.
Featuring a dual-camera setup, a mammoth 6GB of RAM, 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED screen and a huge 6000mAh battery, the device certainly stands out. And that’s aside from the tough design.
We saw previous rugged Hisense phones come to the country, so can we expect the P9 to visit South Africa then?
“Regarding the P9 smartphone, Hisense global will select where to launch this outdoor phone,” Evan Tian, cellular product manager at Hisense SA, told Gearburn. “However, South Africa is not included in the launch plans.”
The company also confirmed that they were targeting a Q2 2018 launch for the Infinity H11 smartphone in South Africa.
“South Africa unfortunately missed the H10 smartphone. Instead, the Infinity H11 is expected to launch locally in April this year.”
Here’s hoping we get the e-ink-toting A2 Pro smartphone as well…
