BlackBerry Key 2 launches in South Africa

The BlackBerry Key 2 is now available in South Africa.
Running Android 8.1 Oreo and sporting a QWERTY keyboard, the TCL-made Key 2 is also the first BlackBerry smartphone to sport a dual rear camera array.
Externally, there’s also a programmable Speed Key, allowing users to access apps, contacts or voice assistants.
Internally, there’s a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There’s also a 128GB version, while both will sport support for a microSD card too.
The screen is a 4.5 inch IPS display with 1620×1080 pixels and a 3:2 aspect ratio.
As for that rear camera, there are two 12MP sensors — one sporting an f/1.8 aperture and the other f/2.6. It’s capable of recording 4K video at 30 frames per second.
Beyond that, there’s a 3500mAh battery, a headphone jack, and Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 fast charging.
As for the price, the Key 2 will be available from Vodacom for R599pm on a 24 month Smart XS+ contract. On prepaid, you’re looking at R12 999.
