“The Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub 500 tackles conference room complexities and helps companies embrace the digital transformation of modern workspaces,” the company explained in a release.

“With the ability to simply connect remote and local participants to Skype for Business meetings and shared content, it eliminates the hassle of sharing personal laptop screens and messing about with cables.”

The ThinkSmart Hub 500 is effectively an all-in-one computer, featuring a 11.6 inch screen that can rotate, Dolby Audio Premium audio with 360-degree array microphones, and a Logitech camera. It also runs Windows 10 IoT Enterprise.

Lenovo South Africa’s Julian Pienaar believes that the ThinkSmart Hub’s biggest drawcard is its efficiency and ease of deployment.

“As workforces are changing, businesses need to provide tools to enable efficiency and teamwork in the office and with colleagues around the world,” he explained.

“One obvious need for change is in how meetings are conducted, including the ongoing issue of the wrong technology to get meetings started quickly. This wasted time can cost businesses millions in lost productivity, so we’re thrilled that the ThinkSmart Hub 500 can help solve that issue.”

Lenovo is pricing the ThinkSmart Hub 500 between R30 000 and R35 000 based on which camera is selected.
