The Huawei Mate 20 Pro will sell for R18 999 in South Africa, the Chinese company announced on Tuesday at its launch event in Johannesburg.
When compared to its rivals, it’s pricing strategy certainly seems aggressive.

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 also launched at R18 999, the iPhone XS is R21 999. The iPhone XS Max is R23 999.
Of the three currently available variants in the Mate 20 stable, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the only version that will be sold locally. The stock Mate 20, and the larger Mate 20X won’t make it to SA shores.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro will go on sale from 1 November, but preorders are available from Wednesday 24 October.
The firm also announced pricing information for the Huawei Watch GT Classic (R4999) and Huawei Watch GT Sport (R5499).
