It’s official: the Nokia 9 PureView’s insane five-camera array is here
The Nokia 9 PureView is finally, finally official, the company’s product head Juho Savikas announced on Sunday.
With its five cameras, the device looks like a spider from the rear. The array however sports two are RGB cameras and three monochrome sensors.
All five are controlled by a custom chipset developed by a firm called Light and lets the device control each snapper separately. Notably, the phone will take at least one simultaneous snap with all sensors regardless of the mode.
Overall, these snaps can hold as much as 240MP of imaging information. The phone will also always snap pictures in RAW format, while snaps also support Google’s depth adjustment system.
As for the phone itself, its design of aluminium, and finished in a midnight blue paint.
The phone itself is coated in Gorilla Glass 5 in an 8mm body. You’re getting IP67 water and dust resistance, as well as wireless charging.
As for the display, the Nokia 9 PureView has a 2K P-OLED display with an underscreen fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock.
It will have 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage and will be priced at $699.
The 9 PureView will be live in March, and in selected markets preorder will be available.
