Wireless earbud market set to sell 129m units in 2019
Thanks to Samsung’s Galaxy Buds and Apple’s AirPods, it seems that wireless earbuds are set for a huge sales increase in 2019.
According to a report by research firm Counter Point, sales volumes could come close to tripling in 2020 over 2018.
The company suggests that just 46-million wireless earbuds were sold in 2018. In 2020, it’s forecasting 129-million sales.
“Apple AirPods’ sales were estimated at around 35-million units accounting almost three-fourths of this emerging segment last year, according to our research,” Counter Point notes.
“Samsung, Bose, Jabra, Huawei, Bragi, LG all are prevalent and will grow from a smaller base from last year.”
The company also expects Google, Amazon and Plantronics to “drive the market forward”.
