Samsung is retrieving all of the review Galaxy Fold devices it handed out to YouTube personalities, influencers, and journalists, a report by Reuters suggests.
“A person with direct knowledge of the matter” told the publication on Tuesday that the move comes after the Korean company postponed the launch of the foldable smartphone after a number of issues with its display emerged.

Announced in February, the Galaxy Fold was set to become the first foldable smartphone launched by a major manufacturer. While the Huawei Mate X is set to be the Fold’s biggest competitor, Huawei has yet to announce a launch date.
Samsung has yet to comment on the report, but the recall of its samples would suggest that the firm is intent on investigating each device, broken or not, or simply wipe the current crop of samples off its distribution lists.
For South Africans, you’ll have to wait for the local launch of the Galaxy Fold too.
Set for its reveal tonight, Samsung will instead debut its QLED 8K TV screens instead. While the panels do sound impressive, we highly doubt they fold, or fit in your pocket, or can place calls.
We’ll have more on these screens in the coming hours, but as for the Fold, Samsung has not yet set a new launch date.
