Forget TVs, Android TV is coming to a soundbar near you
Google on Tuesday revealed that you can now access Android TV through soundbars, particulary the new JBL Link Bar.
“With Android TV now available on soundbars, you can turn your TV into a smart TV,” the company said on its blog.
Android TV allows users to access Google Assistant, which can turn the TV on, launch apps, change the TV’s input and control connected smart devices.
“In addition, Android TV soundbars come with Chromecast built in. This allows you to instantly stream, cast and view additional content,” Google also noted.
The company also noted that a single cable connects the JBL Link Bar to the TV, ensuring that the soundbar is the “the central hub” with multiple HDMI inputs.
The JBL Link Bar with Android TV is currently available for $400.
