New firmware updates are now available for Canon’s EOS R and EOS RP mirrorless cameras, the company on Thursday announced.
The updates are part of Canon’s “commitment to full-frame mirrorless cameras” and feature “latest technical innovations available”.

Both updates bring improved low light image quality and better compatibility with the company’s RF lenses, including the RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM that was launched in July.
“The upgrade also corrects the darkening phenomenon which occurs at the top of some images captured during high‐speed sync shooting with an external flash,” Canon noted in a press release.
Both updates for the EOS R and EOS RP, namely version 1.3.0 and 1.2.0 respectively, are currently available to download on Canon’s support website.
