Sony on Monday announced the local launch of the a7R IV, the “world’s first” 61MP back-lit full-frame mirrorless camera.
“The new sensor back-illuminated structure delivers extremely low-noise, high-sensitivity performance ensuring the absolute maximum image quality,” Sony explained in a press release.

First revealed back in July, the 7R IV also boasts Real-time Eye AF video recording and Real-time Tracking too.
While the camera’s 15-stop dynamic range supports “smooth natural gradations ranging from deep shadows to highlights,” it can shoot in high-speed environments at 10fps as well.
Additionally, the a7R IV features 4K recording and improved wireless connectivity.
The camera will launch in South Africa on 15 October, and cost photographers R58 995.
In August, the company also launched the Sony a6600 and a6100 as part of the mirrorless Alpha range.
