Sony Mobile on Monday announced another device addition to its single-digit smartphone line-up.
Called the Sony Xperia 8, it features much of Sony’s current design trends that you’ll find on the likes of the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5.

A 6.0-inch 21:9 display is now a Sony signature, but the phone also tags along a rather disappointing specs list.
It packs the two-year-old Snapdragon 630 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This combo is powered by a meagre 2760mAh battery.
There are positives some, though.
Being a mid-range Sony, there’s a headphone jack, and it’s also set to be the company’s cheapest device with IP68 water and dust resistance.
A side-mounted fingerprint reader is a nice addition too, as is the dual rear camera setup, complete with an 8MP wide-angle sensor and 12MP primary snapper.
But the phone’s not cheap. At least not for a mid-ranger.
It’ll be offered in Japan as an exclusive to the island nation, but will cost around $500.
