Under Armour debuts its new connected running shoe in South Africa

Under Armour this week announced the local availability of its new connected shoe, the UA HOVR Machina.
The footwear is aimed at runners who want “the speed of a racing shoe with the comfort of a long-distance trainer” and arrives with real-time monitoring.
The UA HOVR Machina includes a Form Coaching feature, which provides runners with personal guidance.
“Runners can also measure their foot strike angle and ground contact time, offered in a post-run analysis, to give them deeper insights into their form, especially useful on longer runs where the form may tend to break down due to fatigue,” the company said.
These two features are available via Under Armour’s MapMyRun app.
The shoe’s available in both men and women’s sizes and is available for R2999.
