Lenovo launches affordable tablet with smart dock
Lenovo has announced the launch of the Smart Tab M10 FHD Plus (2nd Gen) — an affordable mid-range tablet that comes with Amazon’s Alexa AI and a smart dock.
When charging in its dock, the tablet can switch to the hands-free ‘Show Mode’ from Alexa. This display mode is useful for watching media or video calling. It also lets you use Alexa hands-free with voice commands — similar to a smart home hub.
The tablet is an enhanced version of the previous Lenovo Smart Tablet M10, with a larger screen, improved processer, and easier setup for users.
It has a Full HD 10.3-inch display, an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 mobile processor, and a 5000mAh battery. The device also features front-facing speakers with Dolby Atmos.
You can see a summary of the Smart Tab M10 FHD Plus (2nd Gen)’s main specifications below:
- Display: 10.3-inch FHD (1920 x 1200) IPS display
- Processor: MediaTek Helio P22T Tab (2.3GHz, 1.8GHz)
- Rear camera: 8MP
- Front-facing camera: 5MP
- RAM: 2GB/4GB
- On-board storage: 32GB/64GB/128GB
- Battery: 5000mAh
Meanwhile, the smart dock features Bluetooth connectivity, three far-field microphones, and dual 3W speakers.
The device is expected to be available towards the end of June from select retailers and Lenovo.com. The tablet has a recommended starting price of R4999.
With decent specs and the perk of its smart dock, the Lenovo Smart Tablet M10 (2nd Gen) will likely make a welcome addition to the affordable tablet market.
