PS5: PlayStation 5 gets price, release date for South Africa
The long-awaited price and release date for the PlayStation 5 console have been revealed — along with the PS5 and its accessories’ prices for South Africa.
The PS5 Digital Edition has a recommended retail price of R9 999.99 in South Africa. Meanwhile, the PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will have an RRP of R11 999.99.
Both consoles will launch in South Africa on 19 November, in line with the global rollout.
Sony also revealed the price for the various PS5 accessories, including the new DualSense controller and the Pulse 3D headset.

- DualSense Wireless Controller (standalone): R1 499.99
- Pulse 3D wireless headset: R2 199.99
- HD Camera: R1 299.99
- Media Remote: R699.99
- DualSense Charging Station: R699.99
The price announcement follows the PS5 showcase on 16 September, where Sony showed off more games that will be coming to the console.
Newly announced titles include:
- Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
- Final Fantasy XVI
- Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach
- Hogwarts Legacy
- A new God of War title
