Microsoft launches esports hub to follow gaming events and news
Microsoft has announced the launch of a dedicated esports hub, that offers livestreams, news, tournament calendars, and more on one platform.
Powered by Bing and Microsoft Research, the MSN Esports Hub uses AI to aggregate relevant content, Microsoft said in a Bing blog post.
It uses web-scale aggregation and machine learning technology to curate content for users, the company notes, providing a portal to content from a variety of sources
This includes latest and top trending stories, as well as upcoming tournaments and livestreams. Topics covered include popular esports titles like League of Legends (LoL), Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), DotA 2, Overwatch, Fortnite, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, and Rocket League.
Available for both desktop and mobile devices, this hub will deliver a “fast, intuitive experience” to provide a diverse range of content and information on titles you’re interested in.
The hub will also host livestreams and streamers from YouTube and Twitch. While Microsoft dipped its toe in game livestreaming with its own site, the company announced the closure of Mixer earlier this year.
The new MSN hub will also suggest content based on titles you enjoy watching, popular maps and modes played, and favourite characters, mains, or champions.
Another useful feature is event tracking. The MSN Esports Hub will provide the latest results, team schedules, live and in-game statistics, rankings, MVP players, win percentages, event dates, prize pools, and registration deadlines.
