Sony to showcase Horizon Forbidden West gameplay at State of Play
Sony has announced it will show off gameplay footage of Horizon Forbidden West during a State of Play broadcast this week.
The company announced the news in a blog post on 25 May.
The gameplay reveal comes nearly a year after Horizon Forbidden West was first glimpsed. It will be the first time gamers will get to see one of the most-anticipated titles for the PlayStation 5 in action.
“This reveal has been a true team effort and we’re very excited to show you what we have in store,” game director Mathijs de Jonge wrote in a blog post.
Sony said it will reveal about 14 minutes of gameplay during a 20-minute segment.
What is Horizon Forbidden West about?
Sony first showed off the game during its PlayStation 5 showcase last year.
The action role-playing game is a direct sequel to the original 2017 game Horizon Zero Dawn.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic future where mechanical creatures rule the countryside. Gamers play as Aloy, a young huntress who sets out to discover the origins of a deadly plague in a region known as the Forbidden West. Along the way, Aloy must defend herself against the machines and survive harsh environments.
The game features an open world larger than the previous one and will feature North American locations and monuments such as the Golden Gate Bridge.
Developer Guerrilla Games and Sony will release the game this year for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
