Following on the heels of other Xiaomi smartphones launching in South Africa, the company has announced that its Redmi 10 2022 smartphone is now available on local shores.
The launch is part of the company’s aim to expand the availability of its devices worldwide.

It follows the launch of the Poco x4 Pro 5G and M4 Pro smartphones in April, as well as the launch of its Redmi Note 11 Pro earlier in the same month.
So what does this latest launch bring to the table?
Xiaomi Redmi 10 2022 features
The smartphone is a refresh of the original Redmi 10 smartphone that was launched in 2021.
It features many of the same specs, with a few variations on the design and SIM slots. The Redmi 10 2022 features a hybrid SIM slot as part of its dual SIM support.
The Redmi 10 2022 boasts hardware that will attract those looking for a sub-R4000 phone that still has decent specs.
This includes its quad-camera setup for its main camera. The camera makes use of a 50MP wide-angle lens, along with an 8MP ultrawide lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth lens.
On the front, it has an 8MP selfie camera.
The phone also features a 6.5-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, its processing is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 (up to 2GHz) CPU and 4GB of RAM.
It also comes with a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging and 9W reverse charging.
